Antimufa (loosely translated "cure for a bad mood") is a quartet of Argentine expatriates living in Amsterdam trying to put a new jazzy spin on genres like tango, milonga and Argentine folklore. On the cover of 'New Ways Of Argentinean Music' Argentine greats like Atahualpa Yupanqui, Mercedes Sosa, Carlos Gardel or Osvaldo Pugliese are observing with an approving eye. Somewhat remarkably Antimufa's instrumentation doesn't include a bandoneon, but clarinetist and saxophonist Natalio Sued takes care of those arrangements. Even though Antimufa will primarily appeal to jazz audience, to yours truly, this kind of jazzy music with a Latin American touch is the ideal soundtrack to wake up to on a Sunday morning (or dose off again should you desire).
