Far Out Recordings enthusiastically announced the news that the remaining members (keyboardist Jose Roberto Bertrami passed away in 2012) of Brazilian jazz-funk trio Azymuth are back in the studio to record a new album. Awaiting its release, the label presents a reissue of 'Outubro', the first album Azymuth recorded for Milestone Records back in 1980, meanwhile a classic in the band's discography. In the track list delicious samba-jazz (be sure to check the Vocoder driven 'Un Amigo'), but also songs like 'Maracana', an early example of the samba dodoi ("crazy samba") that would become the band's trademark, and even two covers of songs by Milton Nascimiento and Chick Corea (title track 'Outubro' and '500 Miles High'). Now bring on that new album!
