Bunny Rugs has been the fantastic voice of Third World for decades now, but every so often he also likes to turn out a solo effort. 'Time' is Bunny's sixth solo album to date and is a true gem… For amateurs of lovers rock anyway, because the majority of the tracks on 'Time' fall into that category. Opener 'Just Can't Deny' is a catchy sing-along yours truly has not stopped playing. Lovers of classic riddims will certainly enjoy 'Settling Down' over Queen Of The Minstrel and the solid 'Kurfew' and 'Don't Give Up' provide a dash of roots. Bonus track 'Jamaica Land We Love' puts Jamaica's fifty year anniversary in the spotlight. Several of the songs for the album were written in collaboration with Richard 'Bello' Bell, who, in the past was responsible for many a hit by, among others, Anthony B and Everton Blender with his Star Trail Records label. In terms of the musicians Rugs surrounded himself with: Sly & Robbie, Michael 'Mikie' Bennett and Dean Fraser are far from a bad pick. One of the top reggae albums for 2012!
