Chancha Via Circuito is the alter ego of Argentine producer Pedro Canale who, in his music, fuses electro with influences from Brazilian rhythms, Paraguayan harp music ('Sueño En Paraguay') and Argentine folklore. The inspiration for his stage name Canale took from the rail link connecting downtown Buenos Aires with the suburbs south of the city; a route Pedro traveled daily for years on end. Loosely translated from Spanish "chancha" means pig and is the nickname for the old Fiat-locomotives that have been pulling the trains since the 1950s. For the vocal contributions on 'Amansara' ("tame" or "obedient") Canale called on Argentinian rapper Sara Hebe, Colombian electropop-princess Lido Pimienta and Argentinian folk singer Miriam Garcia (already present on 'Rio Arriba', the previous album by Chancha Via Circuito). Finally, 'Sabiamantis', a collaboration with Barrio Lindo (Agustín Rivaldo) and Sidirum (Nicolás Bruschi), provides a dash of dubstep. Intriguing album for lovers of electronic South-American music like we've already heard from artists like Palenke Soultribe, Meridian Brothers or La Yegros.
