Chezidek has once again joined forces with Dutch JahSolidRock and even though 'The Order Of Melchezedik' might not be as impressive as predecessor 'Judgement Time', this album (the title refers to the biblical figure who provided Chezidek with his stage name) confirms Chezidek is one of the biggest Jamaican roots talents of his generation. Chezidek likes trees: his biggest hit to date is still 'Leave The Trees' and on 'The Order Of Melchezedik', he adds the sequel 'Plant A Tree'. Top songs from the track list are the combative 'Tumbling Down' and the confession of faith 'Praises To Jah'. With the last two tracks on this album, Chezidek directs his attention to Africa: in 'Hail Up The Roots', he lists an entire series of African states and 'Rootical Reprise', the instrumental version of the same song, is driven by an African percussion rhythm. Yours truly is already curious to see, whether we can once more expect an entire series of JahSolidRock-releases on these riddims.
