Cologne based band Chupacabras was formed after a chance encounter between rappers Richard Guerra Medina (Peru) and Miguel Igler (Spain) with Mexican busker Josué Avalos. Meanwhile, Chupacabras has become an eight piece ensemble and with 'Palante' ("forward") is already presenting its third long player. With a mix of cumbia, hip hop, dubstep and reggaeton, which they themselves describe as ChupaStylee and in which they smoothly alternate between Spanish and German, Chupacabras' sound (the band was named after the mythical creature from Central America that would feed on the blood of goats, ed.) is reminiscent of that of German dancehall band Seeed ('Cada Dia Mas') and Belgian-Colombian La Chiva Gantiva ('Palante', 'Cancion Preferida', 'Flow'). Catchy Teutonic mestizo!
