With 'Goodness' Clinton Fearon delivers one of his best albums in years. Gone are the covers of old Gladiators hits like on 'Heart And Soul' and instead of the acoustic sound of that album, the Boogie Brown Band returns in full force. The excellent opener 'Blame Game', a song about putting the blame on others time and again, sets the tone for the rest of the album. 'Goodness' is a classic roots album, with the energetic ska track 'Come By Yah', the soulful 'Wi No Know It' and bonus track 'Shadow', sounding like an old negro spiritual, as exceptions in the track list.
