All praises to Dub Store Records, because after bundling a series of Ras Michael's early recordings for 'A Psalm Of Praises To The Most High 1967-1972', the Japanese label now also gives 'Grounation', the iconic album by Count Ossie and The Mystic Revelation Of Rastafari, a second life. The mythical nyahbinghi band emerged somewhere in the autumn of 1970 from a meeting of the Count Ossie drummers and The Mystics of saxophonist Cedric 'Im' Brooks at the African Culture Centre in Kingston. The original vinyl version of 'Grounation' appeared in 1973 and consisted of three LPs, in 1990 followed by an uninspired double CD release. The fact Dub Store now breathes new life into 'Grounation' - and that both on vinyl and on CD - is something we can only applaud. Nyahbinghi classic!
