For 'Deep Dive Dub' Swiss dub-duo Dub Spencer & Trance Hill (still one of the most original sounding names in reggae) drew inspiration from the deep sea adventures of Belgo-Swiss oceanographer Jacques Piccard, who on 23 January 1960 descended to record depths in the Marian Trench with his bathyscaphe Trieste. On 'Deep Dive Dub' the duo once again serves up their delicious ambient dub recipe topping it off with a pinch of jazz here and there. The only track that really took us by surprise was 'Helsinki Dub', as we're sure we recognized the melody line of Spandau Ballet's 'Musclebound'. And, of course, the track list simply had to contain a tribute to Carlo Pedersoli aka Bud Spencer, the Italian actor who passed away earlier this year ('Ciao Bud').
