Ginjah's 'Urge To Love' is one of those albums where the title already gives away its content somewhat, so the fact the track list of this long player contains mostly lovers tunes should come as no surprise. That being said, we should add that Ginjah definitely steered clear from the corny side of the genre. For a few tunes Ginjah goes Rihanna ('Sure Love', 'On My Mind'), and even though power pop is certainly not our favorite genre, even those songs aren’t all bad. Ginjah recorded 'Urge To Love' with Californian producer Jungle Josh, last year also responsible for the Game Theory riddim and Ginjah's versionthat riddim ('4 AM') also pops up here. Top tracks: opener 'Baby Girl (What Love Means)', '4 AM', 'Goody Two-Shoe' and 'Tell Me', a track over a riddim that is clearly a nod to Toots Hibbert's '54-46 That's My Number'.
