With 'Tesitoo/Ready To Work' Antwerp based band Heartwash offers up a delicious slice of afro-reggae. This time front man Sillah Ishaga opted for singing inMandinka (exceptions are the autobiographical 'Taxi Driver' and 'Burning In The Ghetto') and this has clearly proven a comfortable choice. For the production of the album, Heartwash called on Sen-C P, a surefire guarantee for a job well done (be sure to check Sen-C P's dub version of opener 'Wandiyatehmoola/We Belong Together'). On 'Tesitoo/Ready To Work' Heartwash offers a series of rock-solid rootsy-sounding afro-reggae songs-with-a-message. If for their next effort they manage to throw in some traditional West African instruments, Heartwash might have the perfect afro-reggae album on their hands.
