At the time of his debut album, 'Lava Ground', now more than five years ago, we still described I Wayne as: "the most hyped Jamaican artist after Sizzla...". Successor 'Book Of Life' (2007) already sounded somewhat less convincing and on 'Life Teachings' I Wayne seems to have lost the plot completely. Title track 'Life Teachings (Ital Sips)' is still a decent new roots song, but the rest of the album is made up of purely commercial r&b influenced reggae. Yours truly gets no kick from saying this, but this really might be one of the most abominable reggae albums (on some songs the bass is completely absent) we've heard in a long time. Unfortunate miss!
