Jah Chango (born Rico Hardmann) is a German singjay who's been living on the Spanish island of Formentera ever since his childhood. Because of his German roots and the fact Formentera didn't really have a reggae scene, Chango took to his birth town of Nuremberg where he soon came into contact with German reggae artists like Nosliw and Nattyflo. His career really got moment though when he submitted a video for a contest organized by German band Jamaram. Jah Chango was selected and was invited to join Jamaram for their European tour. In 2011 Jah Chango released a first EP ('Off Beat'), now followed by a first full album. 'Sardinas' was recorded in Umberto Echoes Elevator Studio in Munich under the motto: "even a small fish can catch a big prey!" and in the eponymous title track Jah Chango lets a sardine bite a shark. Jah Chango may present himself as a reggae artist, on 'Sardinas' he also flirts with genres like cumbia, rumba, hip-hop and pop, making this album probably more appealing to fans of Catalan mestizo bands.
