Jah Mason still delivers far too few really compelling songs and his new album 'Rise' on the French Nocturne/On The Corner label doesn't really stand out either. 'Rise' isn't all bad, and on a few tracks ('Black Princess', 'All We Say And Done') Mason is really on fire, but to stay afloat in the current overload of reggae releases you have to stick out. 'Rise This Morning', the only real high flyer on this album is actually the merit of guest vocalist Capleton. Better next time?
