Dragon slayer Jah Sun hails from Humbolt County in California and backed by the Redemption Band produced the excellent 'Battle The Dragon'. Sun only slips up very occasionally (the vocoder driven title track 'Battle The Dragon' being the biggest stinker on the album), but most of the songs on this album are far from bad. Jah Sun managed to entice quite a few familiar names (Gentleman, Perfect, Peetah Morgan) to lend a hand with 'Ganjah Don', a duet with Alborosie featuring a short sample of Sugar Minott's 'Herbman Hustling', standing out. In the riddim of the r&b inspired 'Patrick', yours truly recognized the melody line of TLC's 'No Scrubs'. Varied album from an artist to keep an eye on!
