As the son of veteran singer Kendread, Junior Kenna, a Dutch singjay of Surinamese-Indonesian descent, seemed destined for a career in reggae. Still, his first steps in the music business were as a member of Bludline, his brother Row's hip-hop band. However in 2014 Kenna enters the BeneluXXL Reggae Contest and even makes it into the final. His participation certainly didn't do the young singjay any harm, as it would eventually also lead to a collaboration with producer Patrick 'Mr. Patze' Esajas of Area 026 Music. And now this aptly titled 'Here I Come' EP. The EP opens with the lovers tune 'Follow You', an infectious song over a riddim we still remembered from Chezidek's 'In My Heart' and Joggo's 'Strong Black Woman'. Kenna also seems to like his herb as with 'Ganja Addict' and 'High Grade (Blaze)', 'Here I Come' counts two solid ganja tunes. Reality tune 'Tired n Vex' is one of our favorites from the track list and for the excellent combination 'For Me ' Junior was finally joined by his compatriot Rapha Pico. Excellent calling card!
