In 2007, the Japanese Dub Store Records label released 'Graduation In Zion 1978 - 1980', the first volume of what was to be a three-part overview of the work of Kiddus I. The two last volumes still have to be released, but in the meantime there's now this 'Kiddus I meets Reggaelation Independance' EP. For the 3 vocal cuts and 2 instrumentals making up the tracklist of the EP, Kiddus I joined forces with nine-piece Japanese afro-reggae band Reggaelation Independance. and apparently that was a match made in heaven. The EP opens with solid roots tune 'Flying At Knots', followed by its equally impressive instrumental version, then we get a serving of afrobeat with 'Wake Up', again followed by a rock-solid instrumental, and finally there's 'Future', an intimate acoustic song over a nyahbinghi rhythm. More of this please!
