'Rebirth' is the second album by Layori, a singer-songwriter with Nigerian roots. No afrobeat on 'Rebirth', because Layori's music has a subdued jazzy vibe with an occasional hint of bossa nova ('Que Vida'), at times reminding yours truly unintentionally of the work of Khadja Nin ('Modupe'). Were it not for the fact Layori mainly sings in her native language, Yoruba, this album would perhaps not even have made it onto these pages (and that's not even intended negatively). Singer-songwriter album with a Nigerian vibe.
