Unlike many of his colleagues Luciano continues to deliver solid albums and 'Child Of A King' is no exception. The album isn't earthshattering, doesn't put any new spins on the genre and even takes a somewhat false start with corny songs like 'Remember When' and 'This One Is For The Leaders'. But then In The Streetz producer Byron Murray (recently also responsible for the albums by Lutan Fyah and Jah Mason released on the Greensleeves label) steps in and gets the album back at cruising speed and a number of well-known riddims ('Silver And Gold' on the Hard Times riddim, 'Not Until' on the Gideon Riddim) start popping up. In the eponymous title track the Messenger sums up what it's all about: "I'm a child of the King, good tidings I bring!"
