'Fio Da Memoria', Brazilian singer-songwriter Luisa Maita's second album, hardly resembles her 2010 debut effort 'Lero Lero'. Gone is the tropical sleeve picture showing Maita with a flower in her hair, and instead we get a sober black and white portrait. The same is true for the music on 'Fio Da Memoria': of the nimble tropical vibe on 'Lero Lero' is no longer any trace, as the tracks on this new long player sound a lot darker. Instead of the intimate strumming on acoustic guitar that characterized 'Lero Lero', on 'Fio Da Memoria' Luisa opted for downtempo Electronica and dubstep, a sound for which she collaborated with producer Zé Nigro. One for the more adventurous amateurs of modern Brazilian music.
