No idea how they're keeping it up, but Kasba Music keeps releasing mestizo albums as if it were hamburgers at an unnamed fast food chain and Muyayo Rif's 'P'Alante!' is just about the catchiest Kasba-disc that ended up on our test bench this year. The ska-punk meets dub and reggae with a pinch of salsa-muffin this gang from Barcelona serves is very appealing to the ear. With titles like 'La Rebelion Del Sin Nada' and 'C.R.I.S.I.S.' this is also the first mestizo album that pays plenty of attention to the severe recession Spain is going through, even though that might sound more serious as intended as Muyayo Rif keeps things festive at all times. To top it all off, 'P'Alante!' also features quite a number of guest appearances (Joan Garriga and Maria Roch of La Troba Kung-Fú and Leo and Kachafaz of Che Sudaka) and the album was produced by Gambeat.
