With this 'Still Pushing' EP Randy Valentine delivers an excellent successor to/for his debut effort 'Break The Chain'. Once again the singer joined forces with Hemp Higher Productions, but this time also with Joe Ariwa, and with Horseman, Black Steel and Dennis Bovell Valentine also surrounded himself with the cream of British reggae musicians. That ultimately resulted in 8 tracks (7 vocal cuts and 1 dub) with revamped riddims like Casava Piece ('Mama Said'), Police In Helicopter ('Consequences') and Hot Milk ('Wake The Town') giving the songs on 'Still Pushing' a bit of extra recognizability. With the eponymous Errol Dunkley classic opener 'Black Cinderella' doesn't have anything to do, even though listening to the lyrics of the songs it appears as if Randy updated the song for a contemporary audience. A nice find is hearing Valentine asking: "Where is the love?" in vocal cut 'The Question', and Joe Ariwa providing the answer in the dub version of the song: 'Dub Is The Answer'. Another excellent release by this UK based Jamaican singer.
