On 'Trouble Time', Tu Shung Peng's previous album, Ras Daniel Ray was still just one of many voices and in the company of greats like Ken Boothe and Clinton Fearon his voice even faded to the background somewhat. For 'Ray Of Light' Tu Shung Peng has now given the singer from Saint Catherine the prominent place he deserves and you might as well consider this his first solo album. Ras Daniel Ray's vocal style reminded yours truly of the voice of Max Romeo several times, surely a reference worth mentioning. Those searching to buy a good roots album will not be disappointed by 'Ray Of Light'!
