'La Rumba SoYo' is without a doubt Ricardo Lemvo's most Angolan album to date. Lemvo, himself born in M'banza-Congo, the capital city of the Angolan province of Zaire, located near the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, did not only collaborate with renowned Angolan musicians like Kyadaff Kyaku, Ndulo Kituxi or Adão Filipe, but also typical Angolan genres like semba ('Dikulusu') or kizomba ('Simone CM', a duet with Caló Pascoal). 'La Rumba SoYo' also includes fewer songs in Spanish, Lemvo replacing that language with Portuguese, Kikongo and Mbundu. Add to that the delicious rumba, soukous, son and salsa, which already figured on Lemvo's previous releases, and you end up with a lovely summery album.
