It's almost as if Rod Anton selected the weakest tracks from 'Reasonin'' for his 'Leaders Of Tomorrow' EP a few months ago; just to say that this album surprised yours truly in a positive way. Rod Anton seems to have surrounded himself with what you might call "the right friends in the world of reggae", because in addition to the songs featuring The Congos (already included on the 'Leaders Of Tomorrow' EP), 'Reasonin'' also features two great collaborations with Max Romeo and the absolute smash on the album, 'Trumpet Bush', is a collaborative effort with the Virgin Islanders of Midnite. 'Xingu People', a song in collaboration with NGO Amazon Watch about the construction of the Bello Monte dam in Brazil and the consequences this will have for indigenous tribes like the Xingu and Kayapo, is also worth a mention and because of his Portuguese roots Anton is even able to criticize the Brazilian Government in Portuguese. Sincere, beautiful and successful album!
