With the title of their new album, the son-legends of Sierra Maestra indicate that, despite everything, they are still standing strong. Even the departure of two figureheads (Juan De Marcos, Jesus Alemañy) or the loss of the band's voice (Jose Antonio Rodriguez) didn't seem to faze them, proven by the fact 'Sonando Ya' was nominated for a Latin Grammy. The "renewed" Sierra Maestra isn't afraid to stray from the trusted son path either; 'Un Toque De Bembé', 'No Me Guardes Rencor' and 'La Mulata Presumida' all have a guaracha rhythm and 'Sangre Negra' has an Afro-Cuban jazz vibe. Sierra Maestra has already been going at it for four decades, so we can only conclude by saying: "¡Muchos años mas!"
