No idea what happened with Jazz Jamaica, but the bulk of the musicians in that band, now led by keyboardist Bigga Morrison, regrouped as Skatroniks Jamaica. On their debut album, 'Skalsa #1' (a somewhat strange title choice as far as yours truly is concerned as apart from the title song no further ska-salsa experiments can be found on this album) it's clear from the start we're dealing with a bunch of seasoned musicians. 'Skalsa #1' could just as well be a new Skatalites album with Bigga and company focusing mainly on jazzy ska with a pinch of reggae ('Wi Still Deh-Ya') and dub (the beautiful 'Steppas') thrown in for good measure. Very enjoyable album!
