Don't be fooled, with the up-tempo music genre from Jamaica Skazka Orchestra has little to do. This party band was founded by Artur Gorlatschov and Valentin Butt, two Berlin based Russian expatriates. In Russian Skazka means something like "story" or "fairy tale" and musically that translates in a mixture of genres ranging from klezmer over Balkan music to folk and jazz. Skazka Orchestra is already a phenomenon in the Berlin underground scener and thanks to 'Kalamburage' the rest of Europe should now also follow!
