It had been quite a few years since Jamaica's best-known riddim tandem treated us to a new dub album. Like all recent Sly & Robbie productions 'Blackwood Dub' was recorded in their favorite Harry J studio where they gathered a number of familiar faces (Mikey Chung, Uziah 'Sticky' Thompson...). 'Blackwood Dub' is unmistakable Sly & Robbie, but also sounds fresh and innovative; the duo clearly hasn't lost its touch yet. The title of the album refers to Alberto 'Burrur' Blackwood, who, together with Gilroy 'Rolex' Stewart, produced the album.
