With this 'Voice Of Freedom' EP Subajah ("suba" is Creole for against-the-grain or rebellious), an Martinican artist residing in the British capital since 2007, presents his first calling card. Subajah has French-Antillean roots and, when singing in English, is unable to hide a slight French accent. The EP counts but three tracks, 'Free Mindz', 'Good Morning', which has a bit of a Midnite-like vibe, and title track 'Voice Of Freedom', complemented with a dub version of the opening track and an acoustic piano version of the title track. Even though that piano version has little to do with reggae, it was above all that subdued song that most impressed yours truly.
