Apart from as a songwriter and producer Taddy P (born in Montego Bay) is best known as a regular bass player for Maxi Priest. 'Gimmie Di Bass' is Taddy's second album and apart from reggae and dancehall he also included influences from jazz and soul. For the vocal contributions Taddy P called on a number of big names like Shaggy, Bunny Ruggs, Tanya Stephens and of course Maxi Priest and even though that resulted in a bunch of nice songs ('Heart Of Stone' featuring Tanya Stephens, 'Monday Morning Blues' featuring Bunny Ruggs), it are the dub versions of those two songs which really impressed yours truly.
