Release after release Canadian band The Souljazz Orchestra seems to continue to mature and their new album 'Inner Fire' undoubtedly belongs to their best work so far. The Souljazz Orchestra let themselves by no means be limited to one genre and with influences from jazz, highlife, salsa and bossa nova, this is definitely not an album for purists. These Canadians know how to create a mood like no other though. A tad out of place on this almost entirely instrumental album is 'Celestial Blues', for which percussionist Marielle Rivard provided the vocals, but apart from that 'Inner Fire' is an instant classic!
