The list of musicians with whom Senegal-born Thiecko, himself a former member of the Senegalese formation Amandla, collaborated for 'Stand Tall' is nothing short of impressive: Robbie Shakespeare, Dean Fraser, Glen DaCosta, Bongo Herman, Danny 'Axeman' Thompson, Franklyn 'Bubbler' Waul... they all lend a hand, instrumentally making this an album above reproach. Besides singing in French and Wolof, like most West-African artists, Thiecko also gives it his best shot in English, but there he falls seriously short. It's not all reggae on 'Stand Tall' either, as 'Nice Thing Jamming' has an mbalax vibe and in 'Bamtu Salimtu' Arab influences can clearly be heard.
