Tad's Record celebrates 50 years of Jamaican independence with 'Jamaica 50th: Then And Now', fifty songs, in a mix of old and especially for the occasion composed tracks (George Nooks 'Sweet Sweet Jamaica', Mackie Conscious' 'Jamaica 50'...). A unique feature of this compilation is the contribution by The Blues Busters (the duo Philip James and Lloyd Campbell mainly performing for tourists in numerous hotels on the island in the 1960s) performing a 23 minute long medley of songs. For Tad Dawkins, owner of Tad's Record, August 6th will undoubtedly bring back memories: as his father, who was a policeman, had to be present at the National Stadium where British royal Princess Anne would hoist the Jamaican flag for the first time, little Tad was also present at the ceremony.
