Is it there really a need for an umpteenth Jammy's compilation? Well, in this case, it might be justified by the fact the Greensleeves label this time opted to focus on the earliest period of, then still, Prince Jammy. In those years (1977-1985) Lloyd James still worked for King Tubby and there was no trace of his digital exploits yet. Two discs full of roots gems, a mixture of classics like 'Fally Ranking' (Johnny Osbourne) or 'Mr. Landlord' (Half Pint) which every decent reggae amateur will undoubtedly already own, with more rare tracks like Lacksley Castell's 'What A Great Day' or Natural Vibes' 'Life Hard A Yard', which make this compilation just that bit more interesting. Nice in-betweener!
