For their latest release the Soulbeats Records label travelled to faraway Australia with a stopover in Jamaica. Before you lose your bearings completely, this is an album by Mista Savona, just about the most famous reggae producer Down Under. For 'Warn The Nation' Savona collaborated with various Jamaican musicians, from reggae veterans like Prince Alla, Alton Ellis and Horace Andy to boboshanti singjays like Sizzla, Capleton and Anthony B. That results in an album that message-wise is pretty classic (read: classic conscious reggae), but instrumentally has some surprises in store (be sure to check the somewhat Oriental reworking of the Drum Song riddim). A diverse compilation like this will mean everyone will have different favorites, but yours truly puts his money on a superb Burru Banton ('Clean Air Clean Country') and, for one last time, a heavenly sounding Alton Ellis ('Chant Rasta Sound').
