The Eastblok label already surprised us on previous occasions, but their latest production is really a curiosity. 'Polska Rootz' brings together a number of groups from the Polish underground circuit and serves up an eclectic musical mix of folk, electro and reggae. Reggae fans will certainly recognize some names: 'Pierso Godzina/Don't Betray My Love' is a collaboration between Polish folk band Trebunie Tutki and Twinkle Brothers and 'Vavamuffin' by Sekta was remixed by Zion Train's Neil Perch. Just to say that Poland is more than just pierogi (dumplings of unleavened dough - first boiled, then they are baked or fried usually in butter with onions - traditionally stuffed with potato filling, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese, or fruit) and bigos (traditional meat stew and a Polish national dish)!
