Austrian label Irievibrations Records is celebrating its ten year anniversary with the compilation 'Solid Foundation', a mixture of the best and most successful tunes that appeared on the label over the years (Luciano's 'Rub-A-Dub Market', Anthony B's 'Freedom Fighter' or 'Controller' by Jahcoustix and Apple Gabriel) and some previously unreleased songs. In that last category, yours truly was especially taken by the Motown sound of Junior Kelly's 'Mile In My Shoes' and the infectious 'Slaves' by Achim Rhinow aka Don Bonn, a German singer from - you guessed it - Bonn. Nice compilation for those new to the label, but not really essential for those who, like yours truly, have been following Irievibrations Records' releases up close.

'Solid Foundation' also doubles as the soundtrack for 'Studio Chronicles', a series of online documentaries in which the most important recording studios in the history of the reggae genre will be highlighted. The first season in the series focuses on Jamaica and a first episode on the Harry J Studio is already available on www.studiochronicles.tv.
