Apart from Jamaica and the Virgin Islands, reggae is of course also produced elsewhere in the Caribbean, and from producer Michael 'Master Mike' Samuel's Tuff Nut Studio in Febeau Village, Trinidad, we've now received this 'Wake Up, The King Is Coming' compilation. Just as 2015's 'Be Upful & Right', this is a compilation on which various local talents the best of themselves hear over various riddims produced by the label like Ancient, Global Mix or Righteous World. Some of those artists (Ziggy Ranking, J Dot Manswell, Marley Palmer) we already got to know thanks to 'Be Upful & Right', but on 'Wake Up, The King Is Coming' you can also discover a slew of newcomers (Fridge, Reuben, Jaron Nurse, Tumbler, Prince Of Judah...). We were most taken with the voice and flow of Natural Fire and Tumbler, but please feel free to go and explore for yourself!
