Wach'da is the alter ego of Joseph Rano, a singer-songwriter from St. Esprit on Martinique. Rano relocated to Paris back in the early nineteen seventies (nicely captured in closing track 'A 10 Ans'), where, together with his brother, he first founded the band Savane and afterwards started focusing on a solo career. 'Jeux De Vérité' is Wach'da's first album since 2010's 'Tout L'Monde Tout L'Temps'. For 'Leave A Chance' Wach'da invited Winston McAnuff, and together with his sixteen-year-old son AfroZ he celebrates his Antillean roots in the hip-hop flavored 'Antillais'. For the accompanying clip to 'Le Monde A L'Envers (Perverse)', the most catchy song on 'Jeux de Vérité', Rano even managed to get actress Sandrine Bonnaire on board. In opener 'Detrake' the timbre of Wach'da's vocals reminded us somewhat of Pierpoljak's, but the fact the latter also spent a while in Martinique might explain the similarities. Short ('Jeux De Vérité' only counts 9 tracks) but extremely solid French-Antillean reggae album!
