In 2014, Wicked Dub Division, a trio from Pordenone in the northeast of Italy, were joined by Michela Grena, a former member of B.R. Stylers, another reggae band from the same city. That collaboration already resulted in the 'Dub Drops' (2015) album, now followed by 'Red'. Stylistically Wicked Dub Division mainly draws inspiration from the UK steppers and dub scene, but for the remix of 'Past, Present And Future' the band even explored/entertained some jungle/drum & bass vibes. Not that we want to default Grena's vocal abilities in any way, but still it was the instrumental Steppa Version of opener 'Beating Heart', all the way at the end of the track list, that most appealed to us. With album title 'Red' the band refers to the color of our blood, a color binding us all irrespective of race and religion.
