What do you get when you bring together a Brussels violinist (Nicolas Hauzeur) and guitarist (Benjamin Clement) with a number of Gypsy musicians? The answer is Zongora. After Malick Pathé Sow's 'Maayo Men', Muziekpublique has now also put its shoulders under the debut album of this local Balkan band. The band name Zongora refers to a guitar-like Romanian instrument from the region of Maramures in the northeast of the country. The result is 'Doverie', a fairly successful Balkan-album with influences from both Bulgaria and Romania combined with a lot of personal touches and jazzy improvisations.
