Fans of Jah Cure can breathe a sigh of relief, because after years of imprisonment, the man was finally released at the end of July and by the time you read this review he will already have given his first performance in years at the Reggae Sundance festival in Eindhoven. All of this of course calls for a new album and 'True Reflections... A New Beginning' might be nothing more than a collection of singles Cure recorded while serving his prison sentence, it is by no means a disappointment. Maybe it just contains too many corny ballads ('Guide Us Jah', 'True Reflections') though, but solid roots tunes like 'The Sound' and 'Cease All War' amply make up for that. Yours truly wishes Jah Cure all the best on the start of his new life!
