For the instrumental album 'Devil's Tale' Canadian guitarist Adrian Raso combined his gypsy jazz guitar style (think Django Reinhardt, who gets a tribute with the song 'Django') with the impressive horns of Romanian Fanfare Ciocarlia. Not an obvious combination, but somehow Raso makes it work. On 'Devil's Tale' Raso just as easy incorporates influences from flamenco ('Spiritissimo') and the American-Mexican frontera ('Leezard's Lament', 'Cafe Con Leche'), giving the album the vibe of one of Ennio Morricone's western soundtracks. The fact guests like John Jorgenson (The Desert Rose Band, The Hellecasters), Rodrigo Sanchez (Rodrigo & Gabriela) and Kevin Figueiredo (Extreme) also make an appearance can only be considered to be the proverbial icing on the cake.
