As a music critic every so often you're confronted with an album that's hard to criticize but that somehow doesn't quite touch a chord. 'Meditation Time', the new album by Anthony Que, falls in that category. Recording a full-fledged roots album, Que returned to the vibes of his relatively unknown debut 'A Brighter Day Is Coming'. The lovers rock vibe from 'Recharge & Reload' and 'Jamaica No Problem' is nowhere to be found and instead we're offered 14 roots tracks recorded with the Babyclone Band from Nice, France. As stated, there's nothing wrong with the tracks on 'Meditation Time', but they aren't super exciting either. Exceptions in the track list are 'Ghetto Youth', a track that ends in a great dub version, and 'Hold On', a duet with Queen Omega. Inbetweener.
