The reissue program of Augustus Pablo's back catalog continues without delay and barely a few months after Jacob Miller's 'Who Say Jah No Dread' and 'Augustus Pablo presents Rockers International', we're now treated to this deluxe reissue of 'Original Rockers'. In fact, 'Original Rockers' wasn't an album in the strictest sense of the word, but rather a compilation of extremely rare and hard to find singles, painstakingly collected by Chris Lane and Dave Hendley. Just as for 'Who Say Jah No Dread', the track list of 'Original Rockers' was extended with various dubs, deejay versions and instrumentals - be sure to check out the alternate version of The Heptones' classic 'Love Won't Come Easy' or 'Casava Rock', Big Youth's deejay version of 'Casava Piece' - for which there wasn't any room on the original 1979 LP. At the same time a slip up from the past was also rectified. On the original version of 'Original Rockers' the fourth track was listed as 'Tubby's Dub Song', when in fact it was actually 'Pablo's Theme Song', the melodica version of that same tune. And because space wasn't an issue this time, the real 'Tubby's Dub Song' and even an alternate version of that same dub were now also added. Classic Pablo melodica vibes and essential listening!
