We know Kasba Music mainly as the supplier of excellent musica mestiza releases of a whole range of Spanish bands. For once, the label crossed the Spanish borders to introduce us to the music of Baciamolemani, a band hailing from Ragusa in Sicily. 'L'Albero Delle Seppie' ("the cuttlefish tree"), evokes memories of the work of Roy Paci & Aretuska; a festive mix of reggae, oom-pah, a dash of rumba catalana ('La Corriera' featuring La Pegatina) and even a stray Sicilian children's song ('Bambinieddu Aballa Abballa'). With this ray of Italian sunshine the summer of 2012 has now officially started!
