In the summer of 2015, Brother Culture suggested to Paul Fox they should finally record an album together. The latter wasn't unsympathetic to the idea, and the fact there was a definite chemistry between both gentlemen is illustrated by the title of the resulting album: 'Heartical Connection'. Fox and Culture opted for a mix of roots and UK stepper tunes, and we were most taken with the tracks in that last category: opener 'Critical Dimension' immediately sets the tone, 'Ital Sounds' is an excellent tribute to the world of sound systems and dub, and in 'Organic Life' the duo praise the benefits of an organic lifestyle. 'Heartical Connection' contains 10 tracks, and if you purchase the CD version you'll get the same amount of dub versions thrown in for free; if you opt for a digital download of the album, next to 'Heartical Connection' you'll also find its dub counterpart 'Heartical Dub'. If, like yours truly, you have an eye for the artwork of an album, you might have noticed that, stylistically, the cover design of 'Heartical Connection' is somewhat similar to that of 'Break Free', the last release of Paul's Shades Of Black project. The reason is both covers were designed by Paul's wife Helen. And Fox even involved more family members, as in title track 'Heartical Connection' you can also hear Paul's children, sister and brother-in-law.
