One of the many bands Fela Kuti took under his wing in his African Shrine during the early nineteen seventies (see also Hedzoleh Soundz) was Ghanaian Edzayawa, an afro-rock band influenced by the rhythms of the Ewe from Southeast Ghana and Western Togo. The 1973 'Projection One' was the only album Edzayawa ever released and for the last four decades had been nearly impossible to find. In 1975 the band split up after band leader Nana Danso founded the Pan African Orchestra.
