'Born In Babylon' sounds more subdued than its predecessor, 2006's 'Get Wiser', and the addition of Puerto Rican horns men Hellman ‘Helms’ Escorcia, Rafael Rodriguez, Yamuel Marcano and Mario Castro adds an new dimension to SOJA's sound. The fact SOJA remains a band with a message is underlined by the addition of the lyrics to all of the songs on 'Born In Babylon' in the liner notes accompanying the album. The artwork in those same liner notes (portraits of SOJA's five band members done by vocalist Jacob Hemphill) is an added bonus. 'Born In Babylon' isn't the most eye (ear?) catching SOJA album so far, but is yet another solid effort by this American band.
